A Message from Venus
When it comes to hiring an attorney, you have a lot of choices. You may have looked at other attorneys, asked a friend or family member for advice, and tried to do your homework. So, why hire me? To put it straight, I can help you. I take on the tasks of dealing with insurance companies and health insurance providers while thoroughly investigating the details of your case. My clients come back to me when they need help and they refer their friends and family because I listen, give honest advice and take care of the details so you can focus on getting better.
For me, being an attorney is not just a job – it’s a calling. I work hard. I’m aggressive. I strive to get the best results for you so that you feel confident referring friends and family to me in the future.
I was raised by my grandmother. She waited tables to provide for me. I worked in high school and then full-time to pay my tuition while attending the College of Charleston and the University of South Carolina School of Law. I know what it’s like to live paycheck to paycheck. I know what it’s like to be fearful of losing a job because of an injury.
I am a member of the South Carolina State Bar and licensed to practice before all state courts in South Carolina, the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina, the United State Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
I am a certified Circuit Court Mediator and former President of the South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers Division, and founded the South Carolina Bar’s Leadership Academy. I served on the South Carolina Bar Board of Governors, and currently serve on the South Carolina Bar’s House of Delegates and Board of Directors for the South Carolina Bar Foundation. I am on the Bar’s Practice and Procedure and Publications Committees and serve on the South Carolina Fee Disputes Board. Lastly, I am a member of the South Carolina Association for Justice.
Why does this information matter to you? Through my involvement with the Bar and personal injury organizations, I keep up to date on the latest in court developments, jury verdicts and trends to better serve you, allowing me to give my clients the most honest and informed advice possible.
I became a lawyer to not only serve my clients, but my community as well. I am a former Board member of the Simpsonville Chamber of Commerce and founder of the Simpsonville Chamber of Commerce Foundation. I currently serve as a Board member for the Fountain Inn Chamber of Commerce. Most recently, I was elected President of the Fountain Inn Rotary Club.
I grew up in Greenville and Fountain Inn, South Carolina, and now enjoy the Upstate of South Carolina with my husband and three children. When I’m not practicing law, I’m busy running children to sports practice, leading my middle son’s cub scout den and rooting for the South Carolina Gamecocks.
