Upstate South Carolina 4th of July Events
Well, it’s that time of year again—time for Independence Day and the wonderful events across the U.S. to celebrate our nation’s independence. In upstate South Carolina, there are a number of fun 4th of July events scheduled for Independence week.
June 30th
Darlington
Freedom Fest
Held at the Darlington Raceway and starting at 4 p.m., this free festival features food, music, and fun that culminates with a spectacular fireworks display.
Greer
Freedom Blast
From 6 to 10 p.m. at Greer City Park, this fun-filled festival features skydiving, a military tribute, a rib eating contest, live music from the Erica Berg Collective, and an awesome fireworks display beginning at 10 p.m. Admission is free. Food, drink, and fun on the inflatables in the Home Depot Kids’ Zone are extra.
Simpsonville
Celebrate Simpsonville
This fun-filled festival starts at 6 p.m. at the Simpson Amphitheatre and features a 7 p.m. concert by the amazing Charlie Daniels Band. A stunning fireworks display begins after sunset. Food and beverage vendors will be on site. Admission and parking are free.
July 3rd
Clemson
ClemsonFest
Held at Campus Beach, this festival starts at 5 p.m. and features food vendors—including such favorites as barbecue, sweet potato fries, shaved ice, kettle corn, and funnel cakes—a kids’ area, music from the Carolina Coast Band from 6 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. when the music gives way to a spectacular fireworks display. Admission is $5 per person or $10 per carload.
Easley
Celebrate America Festival
Sponsored by City of Easley and Gilstrap Family Dealerships, this two-day festival will be held July 3rd and 4th from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. in Old Market Square. Festivities include food vendors live music, carnival rides, and, of course, fireworks on the night of the 4th at 9:30 p.m. Admission to concert and fireworks show is free. Food and rides are extra.
Slater-Marietta
Slater-Marietta Freedom Fest
Located across the street from Beechwood Farms, this 4th of July event starts at 7 p.m. with food, drinks, a frozen t-shirt contest, moon pie eating competition, and oodles of other fun. Fireworks begin at dark. Admission is free; however, parking is $10 per vehicle.
July 4th
Greenville
Wells Fargo Red, White and Blue Presented by AT&T
Come enjoy one of the state’s largest firework displays at this free event in downtown Greenville on Main Street between River/August and Markley. In addition to amazing fireworks, there will be two stages with live music, a kids’ area, and a number of delicious food and beverage vendors. Musical acts include Conservation Theory, 246 Army Band, Lauren Hall, and Josh Brannon Band. Admission is free.
Pickens
4th of July Celebration
Come celebrate Independence Day at Pickens Amphitheatre on Main Street. Music provided by the Jake Bartley Band from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. when a spectacular fireworks display will end the night. Admission is free.
Spartanburg
Red, White and Boom
This year’s Red, White, and Boom takes place from 6 to 10 p.m. in Barnet Park. Enjoy delicious food such as barbecue, burgers, hot dogs, Philly cheese steaks, funnel cakes, ice cream, and much more. The Spartanburg Community Band will play patriotic music at the Zimmerli Amphitheater stage beginning at 6 p.m. with Jessie’s Girls following at 8 p.m. At 9:35 p.m. enjoy a spectacular fireworks show courtesy of Zambelli Fireworks. Admission is $5 per person, children six and under are free. Gates open at 5 p.m.
